The Entrepreneurial Group is launching a "TEG Focus(Topic) Theme" to help TEG members share, collaborate and focus on issues, solutions and specific resources available through this group.
We will utilize several web based applications, including a message board, an indexed database, and email, to facilitate group interest and discussion in specific topic areas.
You are invited to post Focus Topic(s) for group discussion and to participate in threaded discussions relating to TEG Focus Topics.
Here is the process through which TEG Focus Topics are created and disseminated to The Entrepreneurial Group for review and comment.
A TEG Member posts a TEG Focus(Topic) Theme for group discussion to the TEG Message Board.
A TEG Member posts a new topic in the TEG Focus Topics Forum in ezboard.com, with the Subject: "TEG Focus(ABC)" where "ABC" is one or more keywords to describe a discussion topic, such as "Business Opportunities", "Business Plans", "Calendars", "Funding Sources", etc. This is followed by a brief description in the Comment: entry field.
Note: You must register with ezboard.com to create a User Name and Password for posting, or replying to, a topic in The Entrepreneurial Group Message Board.
Thanks for your continued interest in The Entrepreneurial Group and your participation in the TEG Focus(Topic) theme should prove helpful to you and others in the entrepreneurial journey.

The FreeURL.com redirect service which we've been using the past several years to redirect visitors to various web based applications used by TEG is no longer in service. It has served us well, given that it was maintained in England by a web developer on a part time basis.
A URL redirection service has at least a few caveats including:
It provides a common nomenclature. For example, I've chosen to use TEGxxxxxxxx.FreeURL.com as our naming convention, where "xxxxxxxx" includes "Bookmarks", "ForumCalendar", "ForumLeaderInvitation", "Resources", among others.
Programmatically, the target destination of a URL redirect may be altered only once, with the redirection service (ie: www.FreeURL.com), versus having to update all instances of an http:// link.
Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the URL redirection service itself to always be available and to ensure that all redirected links are enabled. Also, some URL redirection services may overlay your web page with their own frames, force banner adds or pop-up ads to display, thereby resulting in further loss of control over the content a visitor to your site sees.

Raised in small towns for the most part, Andy's story is one of pure survival. By age 22, he had endured more than most people do in a lifetime, yet one thing stood the test of time. His faith in his Creator. It is with this edge that he has walked through the fire, and now he wishes to share his experience with others. Come listen as he shares his perspective on the journey we call life, and a different way to look at faith and success in today's busy world.

Mr. Davis focuses his law practice on small and emerging-growth companies and on technology law, developing solutions to the myriad of legal issues arising from the emerging digital economy. He has worked with businesses on mergers and acquisitions; private placements of securities; securities offerings for public held companies; corporate organization and governance; state securities laws; and joint ventures.
Before entering the legal profession, Mr. Davis was employed for twelve years in engineering, software and product marketing for a number of Silicon Valley-based computer, data communication and software companies. He has also worked as an e-Business strategy consultant, assisting companies in preparing comprehensive strategies to effectively align their business to realize the benefits offered by e-Business.
He is a regular columnist with The Cincinnati Business Courier on technology issues and a frequent speaker at local, regional and national conferences on e-Business topics.
We will discuss the importance of carefully selecting the form of entity for small businesses. These days, many companies automatically assume that they should form a LLC or an Subchapter S Corporation. There are significant advantages and disadvantages to each form, which will be addressed. Finally, Mr. Davis will provide some general guidelines for making a more informed selection.
